Prestige Interior's scope of work encompassed a meticulous and multifaceted approach to rejuvenating the school's main hall, including:

Uplift of 80-year-old oak flooring

The delicate extraction of an oak floor that had graced the space for eight decades was a challenging yet essential first step in preserving the historical charm of the area. This intricate process included grinding off bitumen adhesive to provide a clean foundation for the new installation.

Infrastructure enhancement

Preparation for modern-day requirements involved the creation of a robust foundation. This encompassed 'chasing' the existing floor to accommodate a three-compartment galvanised steel trunking system, coupled with brass flush floor boxes. These enhancements were seamlessly integrated into the structure, ensuring both practicality and aesthetic continuity.

Subfloor levelling

The application of screed and latex levelling was crucial in guaranteeing a perfectly level surface for the new flooring. This meticulous step laid the foundation for a flawless end result.

Entrance barrier matting system

A key consideration for the project was the incorporation of an entrance barrier matting system, harmoniously integrated into the flush finish. This addition contributed to both the safety and the preservation of the new flooring.

Installation of solid oak herringbone flooring
